Publication of Inaugural Issue and Second Call for Submissions
The inaugural issue of damselfly press has arrived! The editors would like to thank all of the talented writers who submitted, and the women who expressed their delight in finding a journal focusing on female writers. Reading the submissions for our first issue has been a rewarding process. We received an impressive number of high caliber pieces from women across the country : students, teachers, mothers - writers of every kind. Our inaugural issue highlights the gamut of voices we seek to publish, including writers living in Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington. These indelible works are filled with joy, pain, darkness and light. They stick with you. We hope you enjoy reading these honest, daring pieces as much as we have.
The editors would also like to take the opportunity to announce that due to popular demand, damselfly press is now accepting nonfiction submissions in addition to fiction and poetry. We are currently reading submissions for our January 2008 issue, and the deadline is December 15th.
